There really is no definite answer to the question of is Melbourne or Brisbane better, as they are both completely different. Of course, when it comes to certain things, one city is better than the other, however we simply cannot choose a favourite. Melbourne is often said to be one the street art capitals of the world, with several designated areas for street artists to graffiti walls with their own unique style and artworks.

Diversity

Melbourne is an incredibly diverse city, boasting more than 140 different cultures living together in the city. With diversity comes some great food and Melbourne certainly has that as well. Weather

The general rule of thumb in Australia is, the further north you go, the hotter it is. Brisbane is around 1,700 kilometres north of Melbourne, and the temperature is definitely much nicer. The days are generally sunny, and it does not drop too low during the night, unlike Melbourne which is often compared to London in winter.

Nature & Scenery

Brisbane is surrounded by beauty, in particular the two islands Moreton and Stradbroke. Stunning beaches, coral reefs, an abundance of marine life and some fascinating shipwrecks, both of these islands are worth a visit when you are in Brisbane. They are both within a close proximity, therefore can certainly be taken as a day trip away from the big city!
